Beach Colors

By Terry Pierce

Seashells pink, dolphins grey.
I am at the beach today!
White-blue waves tickle me.
Splishy-splashy, hee-hee-hee!
Brown wet sand, squishy toes.
Build a castle—there it goes!
Bright warm sun, purple shade.
Sip some yellow lemonade.
Golden dog, bright green toy.
Drippy dog runs to his boy.
Black round rock, red sea star.
Shells and rocks go in my jar.
Orange clouds, sherbet sky.
Time for me to wave good-bye!

Music By the Sea

By Tyne Brown

Listen to the plovers as
They pipe along the shore,
Listen to the roll of stones
That drum the ocean floor,
Listen to the brassy cry
Of gulls above the docks,
Listen to percussion waves
That crash against the rocks,
Listen to the orchestra
That plays beside the sea,
Just be still and you will hear
A seashore symphony.

Seascape

By Stella Michel

Frothy waves charge the land.
Plovers scurry
across the sand.
Seagulls wheel
high overhead
while down below
clams make their bed.
Sailboats bob
in salty breeze.
Crabs swim sideways
through the seas
Sea stars litter
the sun-warmed beach -
far away
from winter’s reach
